Frequently Asked Questions
How is a PTO different from a PTA?
-
While both aim to support schools, a PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) is independent and locally run, while a PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is part of a national organization. Our PTO is flexible, school-focused, and tailored to our community’s needs.
Do I need to have experience to become involved?
-
We welcome everyone, no experience required! Whether it's your first time volunteering or you’ve been part of other school groups before, there's a place for you here. We’ll guide you, support you, and make sure you feel comfortable. All we ask is your willingness to help!
I can't really commit to events during the school day. Can I still help?
-
Absolutely. Whether you can attend meetings, donate, or just share ideas. We appreciate every bit of support. No commitment is too small!
Where does the money go from fundraising?
-
100% of the money we raise goes right back into our school in the form of on-campus celebrations and family/community events. We carefully allocate funds toward identified needs and events that make our school a great place to be!
Do you accept Venmo?
-
Yes! We just recently set up our Venmo account, and we also use Zelle. And after feedback from last year, we also now accept online credit card payments!
I saw another elementary school doing XYZ. Why don't we do those events?
-
As a newer PTO, we’re still building our volunteer base, funding, and organizational structure. Larger, more established PTOs have had years to grow and develop traditions. We’re just getting started! With more volunteers and community sponsorships, we absolutely hope to grow into hosting bigger and more frequent events in the future! Thank you for your understanding and support!
